Novol 34302 Acrylic Topcoat – Glossy Black (500ml)
Achieve a classic, deep-shine finish with the Novol 34302 Acrylic Topcoat. This 500ml aerosol is a premium one-component (1K) high-gloss paint designed for automotive enthusiasts and professionals who need a "piano black" mirror finish without the complexity of a 2K spray gun setup.
This topcoat is the perfect solution for restoring gloss-black trim, mirror caps, engine components, or small body panels where a high-reflectivity, durable surface is required.
Key Features & Benefits
- High-Gloss Mirror Finish: Formulated with high-quality resins that naturally level out to a deep, brilliant shine.
- UV & Weather Shield: Contains advanced light stabilizers to prevent the black pigment from "greying out" or fading under intense sunlight.
- Fast Drying: Reaches a dust-free state in 10–15 minutes, reducing the risk of airborne contaminants ruining your wet-look finish.
- Chemical Resistance: Offers reliable protection against fuel spills, road salt, and typical automotive cleaning chemicals once fully cured.
- High Opacity: Excellent hiding power allows you to achieve a deep, uniform black in fewer passes, minimizing the risk of "holidays" (thin spots).
- Professional Fan Nozzle: Features an adjustable nozzle that produces a flat, wide spray pattern—far superior to standard round-hole aerosols for achieving a smooth, "orange-peel-free" finish.
Professional Application Strategy
Achieving a "flawless" gloss black finish requires meticulous surface prep and technique.
Application Steps:
- Preparation: Clean the surface thoroughly with Novol Plus 780. If spraying over old paint, scuff with a Grey Ultra-Fine Abrasive Pad.
- Priming: For the best depth, apply a grey or black primer first. Ensure the primer is sanded smooth (P800 or finer) and perfectly dust-free.
- Agitation: Shake the can for 2 full minutes. This ensures the pigments and gloss-enhancing resins are perfectly homogenized.
- The Spray: Hold the can 20–25 cm from the surface.
- First Coat: Apply a light "mist" coat to create a tack. Wait 5 minutes.
- Second/Third Coat: Apply a full, wet, overlapping coat to allow the paint to "flow" into a gloss.
- Environment: Spray in a still, warm area. Any breeze will cause "dry spray" which ruins the gloss.
Expert Insight: Gloss black shows every single imperfection. If you see a tiny piece of dust in your wet paint, leave it alone. Wait 24 hours for the paint to fully harden, then "nib" the dust out with P2000 wet sandpaper and buff it back to a shine with a polishing compound.
